San Francisco will shut down its complex litigation department, along with most other civil courtrooms, as part of a plan to deal with a $13 million budget deficit, Presiding Judge Katherine Feinstein said today.
The two-judge department, which caters to big-ticket business disputes, is largely funded by an AOC grant and paid for by special filing fees.
