SAN FRANCISCO — The California Supreme Court today upheld a Los Angeles ordinance that prohibits grocery stores from laying off workers for 90 days after the stores change owners.
All of the permanent justices on the bench agreed that the worker-friendly ordinance isn’t pre-empted by the National Labor Relations Act.
