Barry Bonds, the legendary Giants slugger, hung up the jury on three perjury charges in his April trial. Today he remains convicted of only one charge of obstruction of justice based on his “celebrity child” denial of illegal drug use.

Having done so well thus far, Bonds has moved for acquittal of the conviction. The motion will be considered on the same day, Aug. 26, that the government is to decide whether to retry him on the three perjury counts.
