SAN FRANCISCO — A California appeal court has ruled that a San Francisco lawyer’s new law firm and corporation must help pay a $2.4 million judgment owed to his former law partners.

The First District Court of Appeal affirmed a trial court ruling that had extended a charging order on Shahab Fotouhi’s partnership interest to a law corporation he’d established. The appeal court held that the corporation is a “mere continuation” of his new law firm and a tool used to frustrate collection of the judgment.
