The First Appellate District affirmed a judgment in part, reversed in part and remanded. The court held the minimum wage is the proper standard for measuring the sufficiency of a services contract price under Labor Code §2810, which prohibits a hiring party from knowingly paying a contract price insufficient to permit the contractor to comply with the law in performing the contract.

Toll Bros., Inc. was a developer of large-scale residential projects. Employees of two of its framing subcontractors filed parallel purported class actions, known as the Castillo action and the Hernandez action, against Toll Bros., alleging violations of wage and hour laws.
