The court of appeals affirmed in part and reversed in part a judgment of the district court and remanded in part. The court held that due process required that law enforcement officers who were suspended based on felony charges filed against them were entitled to post-suspension hearings.

Darrin Wilkinson, David Sherr, Lisa Debs, and Sean O’Donoghue were Los Angeles county deputy sheriffs who were charged with felonies. All four were suspended without pay. All four were subsequently discharged either after the charges had been dropped or after they had been acquitted.
