The Third Appellate District affirmed a judgment as modified. In the published portion of its opinion, the court held that substantial evidence supported a robbery-murder special-circumstance finding as to a defendant who, with a promise of sex for money, lured the victim into a secluded alley, where the victim was then robbed and killed by an accomplice.

Rebecca Brousseau, Cristo Lopez, Amy Crawford, and Andrew Lynch lived in the same neighborhood and had known each other since childhood. Brousseau, Lopez, and Crawford met on the street one evening. Lopez was apparently already intoxicated. Brousseau was working as a prostitute.
