The Second Appellate District affirmed a judgment of conviction. The court held that a visitor to a county jail had no reasonable expectation of privacy in belongings stored in visitors’ lockers on the jail grounds.

Brian Boulter was a visitor at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. Upon arriving, he placed his belongings in two lockers located about 41 feet outside the visitors center. Two signs were placed at the entrance to the visitors center. One stated that visitors and their belongings were subject to search at any time. The second stated, among other things, that cameras were not permitted inside the center.
