SACRAMENTO — Judges, court workers and lawyers eagerly awaiting one of 41 new or rehabbed courthouses around the state might want to keep an eye on San Francisco this coming week.

That’s where the Judicial Council’s Court Facilities Working Group will be meeting on Wednesday and Thursday to consider the fate of those 41 projects. The $5 billion, fee-fueled program was supposed to replace and renovate the most aged and dangerous courthouses in California. But then the cash-strapped state swept $310 million — about a year’s worth of revenue — from the fund this summer.
