The Fourth Appellate District affirmed a judgment in part, reversed in part and remanded. In the published portion of its opinion, the court held that the trial court properly sustained demurrers to various tort claims, including Cartwright Act and Unfair Competition Law claims, brought by an anesthesiologist against her former practice group and a hospital served by the group, alleging her unfair exclusion from practice.

M. Lou Marsh, a board certified anesthesiologist, sought damages and injunctive relief against her former practice group, Anesthesia Services Medical Group, Inc. (ASMG), and Scripps Memorial Hospital of La Jolla, one of the facilities served by ASMG. She pled several types of unlawful or unfair business practices and related tort theories, asserting that the defendants had caused her unfair exclusion from practice.
