MIPS Technologies Inc. in Sunnyvale creates high-end microprocessors that can be found in digital TVs, cable modems, cameras, laser printers, network routers, set-top boxes and, most recently, mobile phones and tablet computers. The company licenses its technology to semiconductor makers that then design and sell MIPS-based processors to a variety of electronics manufacturers, including Broadcom Corp., its biggest customer. For the fiscal year ended June 30 the company reported revenue of $82 million, a 17 percent increase from the previous year. Net income was $17.8 million, a 38 percent hike, though it has dipped in the two most recent quarters.

Gail Shulman, 50, is vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for MIPS. She joined the company’s legal department in 1999 and added her current titles in 2009.
