Fewer Mergers with More Objections

The most notable trend in securities litigation is the dramatic growth in the number of lawsuits relating to mergers and acquisitions. Today, a significant number of companies announcing an acquisition are sued. This is true even where the acquisition is friendly and the boards of both the acquiring and target companies have approved the merger.
