Last year, the professional and the personal all came together in a big way for Mary Murphy.

The commercial land use and real estate partner at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher got married in April. In the following months, her work veered into crunch territory, with two of the biggest projects she’s ever worked on getting the green light. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors first approved the $1.2 billion Park Merced redevelopment project, followed quickly by an OK for the $1.5 billion Treasure Island redevelopment. In July, Gibson, Dunn selected Murphy to be the next partner in charge of her firm’s 60-attorney S.F. office.
