SACRAMENTO — More than 60 California lawyers could face professional disciplinary proceedings for inaccurately reporting that they had completed mandated continuing legal coursework.
A State Bar audit of 635 members last fall revealed that 61 attorneys took classes after submitting sworn statements declaring that they had already met the continuing education requirements. Meeting last week, the State Bar’s Board of Trustees said the names of those attorneys would be referred to the Office of Chief Trial Counsel.
