SAN FRANCISCO — The Justice Department wants to fast track the Defense of Marriage Act challenge pending before the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.

Calling Golinski v. OPM a case of “exceptional importance and urgency,” the DOJ, now actively opposing DOMA in court, asked the Ninth Circuit on Monday to send the case straight to an en banc hearing before an 11-judge panel. And the DOJ wants the case expedited.
