US Magazine likes to put photos of celebrities side-by-side and ask readers “Who Wore it Best?” Today, Recorder affiliate the Am Law Litigation Daily could put two antitrust complaints against Apple Inc. over its e-book pricing scheme side-by-side and ask, “Who Pleaded it Best”?

In one corner, there are the Department of Justice, which filed a civil complaint on Wednesday accusing Apple and five of the “big six” book publishers — Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, Macmillan, Penguin and Simon & Schuster — of conspiring to jack up e-book prices. Three of the publishers have already agreed to nonmonetary settlements. Recorder sibling publication The National Law Journal has more here.
