Nearly a decade after Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe moved its back-office employees to a lower-cost location across the country, two more California-based firms announced this week that they’re following the outsourcing trend.
The latest is Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, which said Tuesday that it will open a professional services center in Nashville, Tenn. Relocation of staff from its 11 U.S. offices will begin next fall. Pillsbury Nashville will ultimately have about 150 employees, some of them locally recruited, focusing on IT, finance, new client intake, word processing and other non-legal services.
