SAN FRANCISCO — The JOBS Act may make it easier for startups to stay private longer, if they choose to. But that doesn’t mean emerging companies will ease restrictions on stock sales in the secondary markets anytime soon, lawyers in Silicon Valley say.

In fact, Valley attorneys say they’re now strongly encouraging emerging companies to put transfer restrictions in place if they haven’t already, and the earlier the better.
