The court of appeals affirmed a district court ruling granting a petition for writ of habeas corpus. The court held that defense counsels unreasonable failure to investigate and present witness testimony to corroborate an accused murders claim that the actual perpetrator was a third party who knew and was seen with the victims on the night of their deaths resulted in prejudice to the defendant.
