SAN FRANCISCO The California Supreme Court handed a win to municipalities Monday and a loss to labor, generating two highly critical dissents in the process.
In State Building and Construction Trades Council of California v. City of Vista, the court ruled that charter cities need not observe California’s prevailing wage law when hiring for public works projects.
