C.A. 3rd
C066705

The Third Appellate District reversed a judgment and remanded. The court held that where a nonparent has provided a stable home for a child and acted as parent to that child on a day-today basis for a substantial period of time, a finding of abandonment by the child’s parent is not necessary in order for the nonparent to have established a rebuttable presumption favoring guardianship with the nonparent.
