SAN FRANCISCO — The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is heading back into the abortion wars.

With one case from Idaho already pending before the court, three judges on Wednesday enjoined an Arizona law, pending appeal, that outlaws most abortions performed after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The order by Chief Judge Alex Kozinski and Judges Sidney Thomas and Sandra Ikuta set a hearing on the merits this fall.
