SACRAMENTO — What would the end of California’s legislative session be without a little drama involving the annual State Bar dues bill?

Three years ago it was then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoing the dues legislation in the wake of a damning financial audit of the bar and the leak of news that the bar-run Judicial Nominees Evaluation Commission had found former state Senator Charles “Chuck” Poochigian “not qualified” for the appellate bench.
