SAN FRANCISCO — People don’t normally talk about copyrights and bondage in the same sentence.

But Harvey Siskind IP litigator Naomi Gray finds herself doing just that these days. Even the most casual reader of her IP law blog, Shades of Gray, wouldn’t confuse it with the erotic trilogy that started with the novel Fifty Shades of Grey. But the similar titles are generating more than a few comments and chuckles in the copyright world, and elsewhere. That’s given Gray, who launched the blog in 2009, a better understanding of what her own clients have to deal with when it comes to trademarks.
