An Alameda County judge has approved age discrimination claims of 130 laid-off employees from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, ruling that plaintiffs presented sufficient evidence that terminations disproportionately impacted employees over age 40.
The decision from Judge Robert Freedman of Oakland affects a group of consolidated suits filed in 2009 that allege the Livermore lab terminated more older employees following its privatization by the U.S. Department of Energy.
