SAN FRANCISCO Putting the accused on the stand didn’t pay off.
Defense attorneys in the latest trial against operators of an online pharmacy took a chance and put two of their clients on the stand. But on Thursday, after just one day of deliberations, a federal jury returned guilty verdicts against all three defendants, including a physician, for illegally selling pharmaceuticals through Safescripts Online from 2004 to 2006.
