After achieving mixed results in its first suitable seating class action trial, Kmart Corp. is betting on new counsel to handle what could be a much larger legal battle ahead.

Winston & Strawn partner Joan Tucker Fife, head of the firm’s San Francisco office and its labor and employment group, is off the case, along with partners Amanda Sommerfeld and Robb Adkins, according to a court filing.
