SACRAMENTO — The chief justice may want the judicial branch to "speak with one voice" in Sacramento, but the Alliance of California Judges isn’t exactly singing in harmony.

In fact, someone from the group recently made a plea to Los Angeles County bench officers to help fund what sounds to some like a Capitol lobbyist. The email, forwarded to the The Recorder by a recipient who would not disclose the original sender, said the ACJ "intends to be an active voice and presence in the coming year to advocate the return of local funding to each of the trial courts."
