SAN FRANCISCO — The city’s troubled law library is back in court asking for help to stay open in the face of eviction.

With their current home at the War Memorial Veterans Building set to be closed for seismic upgrades in May, leaders of the historic library have set their sights on new space at 1200 Van Ness Ave. After the library filed suit in February, city officials offered to foot the bill for 20,000 square feet in the building, but library leaders say in an amended complaint that they cannot make do with less than 30,000 square feet.
