Despite its implications for attorneys who represent indigent defendants under the federal Criminal Justice Act, a messy pay dispute between a paralegal and lawyer should be resolved in state court, U.S. District Judge William Alsup ruled Wednesday.
And in refusing to intervene, Alsup indicated the attorney who could be on the hook for thousands of dollars has only herself to blame.
