SAN FRANCISCO Yahoo Inc. has a new lead in regulatory policy after bringing over Tekedra Mawakana from AOL Inc. late last week. The position, deputy general counsel and vice president of global public policy, had been vacant since November, when David Hantman left the Sunnyvale-based search company to take a similar spot at San Francisco-based travel site Airbnb Inc. Hantman had held the position since March 2007.
Based in Washington, D.C., Mawakana will take point on Yahoo’s interactions with regulators and lawmakers around the world focusing on privacy, intellectual property, business and human rights, high-skilled immigration reform and cybersecurity.
