SAN FRANCISCO — The Law Foundation of Silicon Valley has tapped longtime attorney Alison Brunner to serve as its next executive director.

Brunner has spent 17 years at the foundation, which provides free legal services in the Valley and advocates for low-income individuals and families. She is replacing James Bower, who stepped down this year after 14 years at the helm of the nonprofit. Previously, Brunner directed two of the law foundation’s five programs: the Mental Health Advocacy Project and Health Legal Services.
