SAN FRANCISCO Arnold & Porter has recruited one of JP Morgan’s first-choice defenders to deepen its bench in San Francisco.
Complex litigation partner Peter Obstler will jump to the Washington, D.C.-based firm from Bingham McCutchen on Tuesday. Obstler has defended industries ranging from telecommunications to toys, but he brings special expertise in financial services a longtime strength of Arnold & Porter’s. Since 2011, he has defended JP Morgan Chase in more than 20 consumer class actions stemming from the bank’s home mortgage consumer lending practices.
