SACRAMENTO — Governor Jerry Brown on Friday tapped two civil litigators and a prosecutor to join the Alameda County Superior Court bench.

Frassetto Herbert partner Paul Herbert will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Robert Kurtz. Michael Markman, a patent litigator at Covington & Burling, replaces Jon Tigar, who is now on the federal bench in San Francisco. Mark McCannon, a deputy district attorney in Alameda County, takes over for retired Judge David Hunter.
