SAN FRANCISCO — Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has bolstered its capital markets group in San Francisco with a partner from Morrison & Foerster.

Andrew Thorpe — a veteran of the Securities and Exchange Commission whose practice centers on securities regulation, public offerings, M&A and corporate governance — joined Orrick on Monday. Thorpe said he was drawn to Orrick by the firm's global breadth and depth in Silicon Valley, where it boasts ties to entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
