SAN FRANCISCO — When executives from the world's biggest electronics manufacturers met for a round of golf in the late 1990s, they weren't just keeping track of their strokes, a lawyer for Best Buy told jurors on Tuesday.

Instead, their purpose was artificially boosting the prices of the TFT-LCD screens used in a wide range of consumer electronics, said Roman Silberfeld, an L.A. partner at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi.
