PALO ALTO — Tesla Motors moved to dismiss its case against Los Angeles patent holder pointSET Corp. Monday after securing pointSET's pledge that it would not assert infringement claims against the automaker.

Back in April, PointSET sent Tesla a demand letter offering a licensing agreement for a patent it said the motor company was infringing with technologies that allowed Tesla owners to remotely control the temperatures of their cars. In response, a trio of in-house Tesla lawyers filed a declaratory judgment suit June 6 in the Northern District of California.
