SAN FRANCISCO — Shareholders have wasted no time in pouncing on Juniper Networks Inc. after revelations that the networking equipment maker is facing a federal investigation over possible foreign bribes.

Just four days after the Sunnyvale-based company disclosed that it is being scrutinized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission for possible violations of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, plaintiffs lawyers sued Juniper in the Northern District of California.
