Stoel Rives announced that Jon Wellinghoff, chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will join the firm’s San Francisco office upon completion of his service at the agency. Before his appointment in D.C., he was a partner at Beckley Singleton, focusing on client matters related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and distributed generation. He received his J.D. from the Antioch School of Law in 1975.

Arent Fox added patent litigation partner Imran Khaliq to its San Francisco office. Khaliq, who will be joining from Dentons’ Silicon Valley office, represents companies in patent disputes involving mobile devices, software, biotechnology and medical devices, GPS technologies, semiconductors and Internet-based technologies. He is a 2004 graduate from University of San Francisco School of Law.
