SAN FRANCISCO — Pouncing on Samsung Electronics Corp. and Quinn Emanuel for spilling its business secrets, Nokia Corp. has proposed a price for the offense: $50,000 a day until it’s fixed.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal ordered Samsung and its lawyers at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan last month to explain why they should not be sanctioned for violating a protective order meant to shield information turned over in Samsung’s patent battle with Apple Inc. Nokia, represented by Alston & Bird, proposed the sanctions ahead of a hearing on the matter next week.
