Enrollment figures for first-year law students are waning nationally, according to figures released Tuesday by the American Bar Association. But two local law schools increased their entering class size in 2013.
UC-Berkeley School of Law and Santa Clara University School of Law saw their first-year class grow year-over-year, placing the Bay Area schools among the 63 ABA-approved institutions that experienced an increase in enrollment from 2012. The enrollment of first-year law students at Berkeley Law has climbed about 6 percent since last year to 280 students. First-year enrollment at SCU Law ticked up nearly 4 percent over the same time period.
