SACRAMENTO — A search committee charged with finding a replacement for former UC-Berkeley School of Law Dean Christopher Edley Jr. has narrowed the field of candidates to four, including Judge William Fletcher of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

The three others under consideration are University of Michigan Law School professor Samuel Bagenstos, New York University School of Law professor Sujit Choudhry and Boalt acting dean Gillian Lester, according to an update sent Friday to Berkeley law alumni.
