Los Angeles-based EMG Technologies is accusing several financial services firms of violating its patented technology for displaying and navigating web pages more easily on a mobile device.

In nine separate suits filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, EMG targeted banking companies including Goldman Sachs, Western Union, and Capital One. EMG also sued well-known brand names like the popular furniture outlet IKEA and real estate giant RE/MAX. The complaints reference that each company derives substantial revenue from its website, including sites reformatted for use on cell phones and mobile devices using a small screen.
