Nexenta, a Santa Clara storage solutions company, has named Mavis Yee as general counsel. She had been a global business and transactions practice partner at Nixon Peabody for nearly four years, and before that, a partner at Cooley. She received her law degree from UC-Hastings College of the Law, and before pursuing a career in law, earned her master’s degree in business administration from UC-Irvine and spent four years as a special investigator for the California State Legislature Auditor General’s Office.

SB Product Group, the San Carlos-based joint product and procurement platform for SoftBank and its affiliates, has brought aboard Mariam Missaghi as corporate counsel. She had been an associate at Latham & Watkins since 2010, and before that served as a legal intern for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and as a judicial extern to U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner in the Central District. She received her law degree from UCLA.
