SACRAMENTO — Veteran San Francisco city attorney Therese Stewart has received glowing endorsements in her bid to join the First District Court of Appeal, including a top-notch “exceptionally well qualified” rating from judicial evaluators.

“Our report to the governor’s office reflected Ms. Stewart’s keen intellect, analytical skills, even temperament, strong work ethic and collegiality,” Jason Lee, chairman of the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation, wrote in a letter, released publicly on Tuesday, to Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye.
