SACRAMENTO — Gov. Jerry Brown has another privacy vs. law enforcement dilemma on his hands.

The Legislature sent him a bill Wednesday that would generally require police and sheriffs to obtain search warrants before using drones. AB 1327 would also force government agencies to let the public know if they plan to launch drones—San Jose can attest to the importance of that—and it would mandate that any drone-collected images be deleted within one year. Arming drones with weapons would be a no-no too. And, perhaps most interestingly, cities and counties could adopt even stricter rules for pilotless aircraft.
