The Recorder is pleased to introduce the winners and finalists of its first-ever Corporate Practices of the Year Awards and the recipients of its first-ever GC Impact Awards.
For the corporate practice honorees, Recorder editors reviewed extensive nomination materials on dozens of firms and interviewed clients and firm representatives. We assessed the depth and scope of each practice, looking for specific expertise the firm was able to bring to its engagements. We looked at the importance of the engagements to the client; the novelty of the situation or the creativity employed in obtaining the client’s goal; how the firm coped with cost or time constraints; and other factors that weighed on the corporate practice’s performance during 2013. We considered any engagement led by California-based partners, even if the work or the client was outside the state.
