Aparna Bawa has experience as a lawyer and as an investment banker. She studied accounting at Marquette University in Milwuakee, Wis. and got her first job as an auditor. She’s always been on a path to get closer to the businesses she’s advised, and she found her best role working in-house.
She’s been with San Jose-based Nimble Storage Inc. for almost two years, and at the close of 2013, she helped the company in its initial public offering. The data storage company priced 8,000,000 shares at $21.00 per share, but saw shares open $10 above that price, and hit a high of $34.00 before settling down to close at 62 percent above price.
