The Recorder has named Gilead Sciences and Palo Alto Networks as Legal Departments of the Year for 2014. Gilead Sciences, in the large company category, was also named Legal Department of the Year for major litigation results and global compliance. Palo Alto Networks, in the emerging company category, was also honored for deals and acquisitions; major litigation results; employment; and global compliance.
Recorder editors considered more than 70 nominations from outside counsel and the departments themselves, taking into account specific achievements in the last year.
