SACRAMENTO — The fastest Ferraris can hit 60 mph from a dead stop in less than three seconds. But the sports car company’s recent transition from marketing partner to the target of a lawsuit seeking millions of dollars has proved a slower—and much less fun—trip.

A Swiss father and son sued Ferrari S.p.A and Facebook Inc. in San Mateo County Superior Court this week, claiming the Italian automaker usurped their popular Ferrari fan pages with the aid of the social network. Sammy Wasem, an aspiring Formula 1 racecar driver, and his father, Olivier Wasem, are seeking damages equal to at least half the value of the pages, a figure they say could run into the millions.
